Campus Minister

Corey Shirey joined the SWOSU Wesley Foundation as the Executive Director & Campus Minister on July 1st, 2022.

Prior to joining The Wesley, Corey worked in youth and young adult ministries for over 8 years, including as a youth pastor at the Wesley United Methodist OKC, Woodward First United Methodist, and Carmen United Methodist churches.

Corey has also served in a variety of different roles for the Oklahoma Conference of the United Methodist Church, including as Adult Co-Chair of the Conference Committee on Youth Ministry, Vice Chair of the Conference Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry, member of the Conference Episcopacy Committee, an Assistant Secretary for the Annual Conference, one of the Deans of Camp LEAD, and as a volunteer for several church camps, including CLUE Camp and Camp Spark. He also currently serves on the Oklahoma Delegation for the South-Central Jurisdictional Conference and the General Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Corey is also a current student at Saint Paul School of Theology on the campus of Oklahoma City University, seeking a Master of Divinity. He is a certified candidate for ministry and is in the process on becoming an ordained Elder in the Oklahoma Conference.

When not doing ministry or school work, you can usually find Corey playing with his dog, Ellie, playing Xbox, reading, hiking the Ouachita Mountains, hanging out with friends, or enjoying a large glass of sweet tea and a slice of cheesecake.
